Financial Systems
Overview
LOGIS’s financial management
solution is J.D. Edwards suite of Financial applications. J.D. Edwards
has made a commitment to help governments by incorporating best
business practices (BBP) into software solutions for the public sector.
These governmental solutions deliver the latest and best ideas from
thousands of successful public and private organizations, while
complying with all GASB and GAAFR requirements. With BBP,
governments can leverage the efficiency of an enterprise-wide solution
that integrates financial, public works, human resources and payroll,
procurement and material management, grant management, and contract
management applications.
Integrated Modules
J.D. Edwards is composed of
tightly integrated modules that cover all your financial information
needs. These modules include General Ledger, Budgeting, Job/Project
Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable/Cash Receipts,
Purchasing, Encumbrance, and Fixed Assets/Inventory. All modules are
integrated with the General Ledger, and each transaction leaves an
immediate and easy-to-follow “trail” to its multiple sources.
Power and Ease
With a solution driven by government specifications instead of
programming and one of the most versatile graphical user
interfaces in the business, you gain across-the-board improvements in
employee productivity. Using point-and-click, drag-and-drop
functionality, your frontline employees can easily arrange and save
screen views and preferred workflows to accommodate their preference
for daily and periodic activities. Further, they don’t need to learn
a query language to have virtually unlimited capability to sort,
sequence, and graphically display online and report data for effective
decision making.
Flexible
Reporting
J.D. Edwards flexible,
intuitive GAAFR-compliant reporting templates and executive information
systems enable comprehensive reporting. You can quickly produce
CAFR reports mandated by legislative action. With easy-to-use
templates, you define preloaded data fields and functional models that
hold required text information. Online and hard copy data can be
easily formatted to meet unique or mandated reported standards for
agencies, constituencies, or governing boards. Current
information is automatically downloaded into the appropriate sections
of the report. In addition, you are able to take advantage of
charting capabilities to compile and/or edit reports automatically in
text or graphical form.
Security
Menu options in J.D. Edwards can be tailored so different levels of
security can be established for each user. Data access may be
restricted at the database, record, or field level. For example, a
department head may be restricted to access only those accounts for
which he/she has responsibility.
