Fleet Management

Overview
LOGIS’s Management Information System (MIS) solution for Public Works departments is the FleetAnywhere application from the MAXIMUS Corporation. FleetAnywhere is a PC-based, client/server application that has all the tracking and analysis capabilities required for managers of equipment and shop operations to make efficient and effective decisions based on complete and accurate data about equipment, costs, manpower, and inventories.

Equipment Management and Tracking

FleetAnywhere maintains a comprehensive inventory of all your equipment, including required identification and descriptive data for each unit plus a great deal of optional descriptive and classification data. An interactive work order capability records labor, parts, and commercial charges. You can have as many work orders open at the same time for a unit as you need to fully describe the work. Complete repair and preventative maintenance (PM) history data are available on-line for the life of each unit. Automated PM scheduling and monitoring for all units ensure well-maintained equipment. Usage tracking allows you to collect data such as number of miles/engine hours driven and days or hours of use.

Cost Analysis
FleetAnywhere reports costs in many levels of detail on its pre-defined reports. (It also has a full-featured report generator for customized reports.) FleetAnywhere tracks costs by type (fuel, oil, miscellaneous, repairs, PM, labor, parts, depreciation, and fixed monthly expenses); by PM service type; by repair group and repair task; and by repair cause. All these categories help you determine whether the costs are reasonable and why they were incurred. User-defined standards for fuel and oil consumption, repair and preventative maintenance costs, labor performance, etc. allow you to quickly pinpoint “problem” areas and resolve them.

Inventory Management
FleetAnywhere not only tracks and reports on inventory usage of parts and consumables (fuel, oil, etc.) but also provides management reporting for purchasing, replacement, and security. Parts control provides an on-line display of parts lists, stock status, parts below reorder point, etc. To maximize the effectiveness of purchasing, FleetAnywhere provides automatic calculation and monitoring of economic order quantities, reorder points, and safety stock levels. FleetAnywhere also contains interfaces for most major fuel dispensing systems (as well as the ability to easily develop new interfaces). Fuel tickets do not need to be re-entered into FleetAnywhere from the fuel dispensing system.

Below is just a sample of the hundreds of features available from FleetAnywhere.

  • Menu choices may be selected by mouse click or keyboard.

  • User-defined tool bars allow a customized interface for each user.

  • Drop-down lists on fields with data tables allow you to select an item and import it into the field.

  • Access to each FleetAnywhere screen, window, or field may be controlled for each individual user.

  • Bar code support means access to improved data accuracy and quicker data collection and entry.

  • A data dictionary and ad-hoc report writer provide almost unlimited capability to retrieve and report data from the FleetAnywhere database in any desired format.
