In an article by David Baum titled “In an era of deficit control, LOGIS delivers enterprise-caliber technology to public agencies” LOGIS received the spot light for providing “world-class ERP functionality to local governments”.
The article highlights the LOGIS use of the JD Edward’s software suite to “leverage economies of scale while maintaining autonomy in overall governance.”
From a long history of serving a growing membership to utilizing today’s advanced technologies, Mike Garris, Executive Director for LOGIS stated “Utilizing a private cloud is a good middle ground between placing assets in a public cloud, where you don’t have much security or control, versus doing everything on your own.”
APCO stands for Association of Public Safety Communication Officials. The APCO annual convention was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center from August 19th to the 22nd and was expected to draw up to 5,000 communications professionals from around the country. In addition to many educational sessions, there were hundreds of exhibitors filling the convention center hall. It is a great opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments that affect communication centers and see the direction of computer aided dispatch and mobile applications. Many of the LOGIS public safety support staff took advantage of the convention being in town and attended portions of the conference.
Each year LOGIS PDS Assessors are required to report Sales Ratios to the county. Last year a new process to report these Sales Ratios was mandated by way of a T-Calc spreadsheet developed by Minnesota Department of Revenue (MNDOR). This was a multi-step process consisting of: generation of the Sales Ratios report, export this data to an excel spreadsheet, copy the data from the excel spreadsheet and paste it into the MNDOR T-Calc spreadsheet.
This year the process has been streamlined where the Assessors will be able to export the data directly into the MNDOR T-Calc spreadsheet from PDS. The elimination of many steps will reduce the chance of errors and reduce the time required to produce the information in the required format.
More and more cities are accepting credit cards as a form of payment for permits over the counter at City Hall. This allows for more flexibility for the customer and ensures a secure means of maintaining the transaction.
Homeowners as well as contractors value the additional option of payment at the counter when obtaining a permit at City Hall.
If your City is not currently accepting credit cards over the counter and would like more information, please let us know.
You can use function keys in Class recreation management software to save time and make things more convenient:
F1: When unsure of what a field in any of the modules means or how to use certain aspects of the modules, pressing F1, which brings up the Help window, provides informative detail about the current module and, in many cases, the current window a user has open in Class.
F2: Any time a field in Class requires text input, pressing the F2 key with the cursor in that field brings up a Zoom Box where the user has a larger field to enter and edit the text.
F3: Any time a field requires a date to be entered within CLASS, pressing the F3 key with the cursor in that field brings up a calendar, which allows for an easier method to select a specific date, rather than typing it in manually.
F5: In many of the maintenance modules (Program Maintenance, Facility Maintenance, etc.), any time a field is pulling in data from another record (like a function, a fee, etc.), pressing the F5 key will bring up the maintenance screen for that specific function, fee, etc. You can then view more information about that specific function, fee, etc.
