Collaborate 13, this year’s version of the annual User Group conference for Oracle software clients, including JD Edwards, was held in early April. This was a great opportunity to see what new functionality is available in the software now (a minor software upgrade is required) and where they are going with the software in the future. In addition to all the enhancements being made to the standard web client, including support for IE 10 and Windows 8, JDE developers are also focusing on mobile devices (iPads, cell phones, etc.) for certain applications that make sense for ease of use outside of the office. Stay tuned !!
A LOGIS representative attended the Active World Conference, held in San Diego on April 8 – 11 and sponsored by Active Network, the developers of Class. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to attend classes, meet with Active Network developers and support personnel face-to-face, and share ideas with other attendees. In particular, this conference provided a lot of information about “Active Net,” Active Network’s other major software system for Parks and Rec departments. Active Net is an Internet Browser based product that LOGIS and its Class users may be looking at a few years from now.
Active Network plans to make the materials from the conference available to all Class users within the next few weeks. If you are interested in reading these materials, please contact LOGIS Class support.
The new ePermits conversion project is now complete and a huge success! All 14 cities have been converted to the new ePermits website with radiant reviews. The change took place over the last couple months starting with the City of Eden Prairie late November 2012 and concluding with the City of Maple Grove late March 2013. The upgrade progression for each city was very seamless and greatly recognized as beneficial for City staff as well as the general public.
City employees have been trained on the new ePermits website, making them well equipped to handle any questions, problems, or concerns that may occur.
We look forward to talking with any LOGIS city who may be interested in incorporating ePermits to their daily business needs.
