LOGIS has a new employee in Public Safety Support. Lisa Storey began employment in January as a support analyst for our Law Records Management Systems. Lisa came to LOGIS with a wealth of experience having been a records supervisor with the Brooklyn Center Police Department for several years. More recently she was employed by TriTech working on their demonstration team. Her experience with both our current and future records systems has already served us well. Congratulations Lisa! John Rogers who had been handling RMS support has been transitioning into a new role assisting with systems development.
Infinity.BI is a powerful analytics tool, able to provide dynamic reports that address the unique business intelligence needs of our utility billing members.
Eden Prairie was our first consortium member to implement Infinity.BI, going ‘live’ October 2013. Working with representatives of Altair, the software developer of this tool, the Eden Prairie Assistant Finance Director provided input that subsequently enabled her to create numerous custom city reports, some of which follow:
Revenue and Consumption
3-Year Customer Billing Analysis
Eden Prairie utilizes these new analytics for month, quarter, and year-end city financial status and reporting. An Infinity.BI rates simulation model to forecast rate increases is also under development.
Farmington will be our next member to implement Infinity.BI, followed by Hutchinson Utilities Commission, with the cities of Apple Valley and St. Louis Park to follow.
Like to hear/see more regarding the power of Infinity.BI? Please contact Utility Billing Support and we will be happy to set up a demonstration for you.
During the last few months, LOGIS has been going through the process of creating and receiving responses for a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Parks and Recreation system. We have now received responses from prospective vendors and have performed a preliminary analysis of those responses. We have scheduled a meeting at the LOGIS offices for Tuesday, February 25th, 1:30 – 3:00 PM to discuss the responses. We strongly encourage representatives from every LOGIS Class city to attend. The agenda for the meeting will be:
Initial analysis of RFP responses
Group discussion to decide the next steps in the selection process
LOGIS is proud to announce that we have been selected by the City of Burnsville to support their LAN and WAN network infrastructure. LOGIS will also be assisting Burnsville with implementations, changes, security, and budget recommendations. LOGIS will also be integrating their routers, switches, firewalls into our Cisco CiscoWorks and TACAC products supplying Burnsville with configuration backups, network monitoring, change control, and a coordinated change platform. LOGIS looks forward to a long and beneficial partnership with Burnsville.
In the next few days, LOGIS will be releasing an update to the ePermits website search function. Since we rolled out the new and improved ePermits website in 2013, the search function has become a very valuable tool for many different users.
In order to consistently grow with the advancement of the website, we have added a new search parameter which will allow the user to search on a specific permit type. All search fields can be used individually or in conjunction with other search fields to retrieve permit records. We have also sorted completed inspections by date beginning with the most current.
We anticipate this will greatly enrich the search utility within the ePermits website.
St. Paul has been using the eProperty website developed by LOGIS to allow the public to lookup special assessments in real time. The City of Woodbury liked the functionality of the St. Paul website and asked if they too could have similar functionality. On February 6th Woodbury went live on their eProperty website. Citizens for both St. Paul and Woodbury are able to view online levied and pending assessments for their property including assessments which have been certified to the county to be assessed on their property taxes.
Other LOGIS members who use the Special Assessments application and would also like to have this functionality need to contact LOGIS to discuss the details required for their own eProperty website.
