LOGIS Public Safety is excited to announce that we are in the early stages of deploying two CentralSquare Products within our mobile environment; ArcGIS Runtime 100 (RT100) mobile mapping and the FieldOps mobility application.
RT100 maps are significantly faster, clearer, and can support worldwide aerial imagery as a service. No huge files to store locally! LOGIS staff is currently working on fine-tuning the maps known to our users within this new format.
FieldOps is in the preliminary stages of internal testing. While there is some functionality lacking, the potential benefit for our end users is tremendous by providing end-users without a mobile computer the ability to see a relative view of CAD incidents and units. This cross platform application can be installed on an IOS or Android device.
The snow is melting quickly and the building season is heating up!
Our members are anticipating an active start to the busy season due to the rapid meltwater and ice dams that we have encountered this winter. Speed and accuracy will be key to serve the permitting needs of residents and businesses in our cities. LOGIS has many mechanisms to help improve efficiency within PIMS.
Many of our members utilize our ePermits solution to help speed up the permitting process for residents and businesses in their cities. Some members have opted to implement eScheduling, which allows permit applicants to schedule time with a building inspector from the convenience of their computer. Permits, inspection records, and correction notices can be emailed directly from PIMS to building contractors and homeowners directly, speeding up the process of getting these documents in the hands of those who need them.
If you’re interested in implementing any of these solutions, or learning more about how other cities have handled particularly busy permit and inspections situations due to storms, city growth, or other situations – LOGIS staff is prepared to answer questions and help you out!
You may not realize it, but RecTrac has a feature where you can make quick edits to file maintenance data using “in-line” editing right on the datagrid, without opening the update screen. This can be handy if you need to make the same or similar changes to multiple items on the grid. To use in-line editing, do the following:
Click on the box in the left-most column of the datagrid item you want to change. The “stylus” icon will change into a check mark.
Locate the field (column) you want to change and change it. Note that only certain columns are eligible for changing.
Click on the box in the left-most column again. The check mark icon will change back into a stylus icon. The change is now complete.
Repeat as needed with other rows in the datagrid.
If you have further questions about in-line editing, please contact email@example.com.
LOGIS would like to welcome the City of Blaine to the Special Assessments application. The City of Blaine was in need of new software to handle their tracking and reporting of their Special Assessments. They decided the LOGIS PDS/SA software has everything they need including online real-time assessment search.
Conversion of data is well underway, and they expect to be live in the second quarter 2019.
Testing for CIS Infinity’s new build, 3.1.29 is complete and is ready to be rolled out into Production. Thank you to all that helped test and provided feedback. We are happy to report that there were not any issues during testing.
The new build will be applied to Production early in the 2nd quarter. Once a schedule is established, all members will be notified of their date for upgrade. At that time, please let us know of any scheduling conflicts and we will reschedule. Everything in CIS needs to be updated when the new build is applied, that means all billings, cash batches, and penalties be updated. Please stay logged out of CIS when the scheduled update is in progress. A staff member will update you once the new build update has completed.
If you experience any issues after the update, please call the UB support line immediately at 763-543-2660.
