In March, five LOGIS Public Safety Staff, along with 25 participants from our member agencies had the opportunity to attend the newly formed CentralSquare’s first vendor conference in San Antonio. This four-day conference was packed with classes that discussed current product functionality as well as gave previews of new features that are on the horizon. Time at the conference is always valuable because it provides the opportunity for face-to-face interactions between users and product management!
Some of the exciting enhancements that are coming:
New Mobile User Interface Design
Mapping within CAD Browser
CAD User Interface Design upgrades – starting with the Emergency Call Taking screen
Additional functionality with the new Routing Server
If your agency is interested in attending future CentralSquare conferences, please contact LOGIS Public Safety staff for additional information. Next year’s conference has been scheduled for March 17th-20th, 2020.
RecTrac 3.1 relies heavily on datagrids. Datagrid columns often have configurable search fields, where you can enter text to search on and indicate how RecTrac should run the search:
“Begins With” is often the default search, but “Contains” is a much more powerful search, as it will locate the search text no matter where it is in the field. It is easy to default the search to the “Contains” type:
Begin by navigating to Management > System Management > Screen Management > Management Screen Management.
Click the “Update Default Widgets?” button at the bottom of the screen.
On the Management Screen Update screen, select the “DefaultWidget_CharacterFillin” field.
On the left side, click the pencil next to “FilterOptionDefault,” and change the option to “Contains.”
Click the check to switch it back to a pencil, then click “Done” to save.
The next time you run a search from a datagrid column, it should default to “Contains.”
If you have any questions about how to set up this feature, please contact email@example.com.
April 5, 2019 was a sad day at LOGIS as long time employee Ray Jozwiak retired. Ray held various positions at LOGIS since 1988 and was the Manager of Application Support and Technology. The applications under his umbrella were Utility Billing, Special Assessments, Property Data, eProperty, PIMS and ePermits to name a few. Several of these application are in-house written. Everyone at LOGIS will miss his knowledge, quick wit, sense of humor and friendship.
With ‘Spring’ having ‘sprung’, it brings forth the planning and scheduling of the annual ‘Utility Billing User Group Meeting’. This year’s meeting month and date is yet to be determined. The LOGIS UB User Group consists of 19 member cities. LOGIS discussion items include the Work Plan and many more exciting Utility Billing topics.
Users have expressed an interest in Fall 2019 WebEx training sessions regarding Advanced reports/Filters/Searches, new account set-up, bankruptcies, delinquencies, move in/outs, best practices for the Certification process and Invoice Cloud.
As always, LOGIS support staff is looking forward to hosting this engaging event. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Utility Billing users to interact and network with each other to share ideas and best practices. Stay tuned for more details!
